Responsibilities:


Candidate Outreach and Screening:

  • Identify and reach out to international students seeking internships in Japan.
  • Evaluate candidates' qualifications, skills, and compatibility with available internship opportunities.
  • Conduct initial interviews and assessments to gauge candidates' language proficiency, cultural adaptability, and motivation.


Internship Matching:

  • Collaborate with domestic and international companies to understand their internship requirements and objectives.
  • Match qualified candidates with suitable internship positions, considering their academic backgrounds, interests, and skill sets.
  • Ensure that both candidates and companies are aligned in terms of expectations and goals.


Cultural Preparation:

  • Provide orientation and training to selected candidates on Japanese workplace culture, norms, and etiquette.
  • Offer guidance on cross-cultural communication, helping candidates navigate potential cultural differences.


Internship Support:

  • Maintain regular communication with interns throughout their placements, addressing any concerns or challenges they may encounter.
  • Facilitate check-ins with both interns and host companies to ensure a positive experience for all parties.
  • Offer advice on maximizing the learning experience and making the most of their time in Japan.


Feedback and Evaluation:

  • Collect feedback from interns and host companies to assess the quality of the internship experience.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the internship program's effectiveness.


Networking and Relationship Building:

  • Foster strong relationships with partner companies and academic institutions to expand the network of available internships.
  • Attend industry events, workshops, and conferences to stay updated on trends in internships and employment.


Data Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of candidate profiles, internship placements, and communication history in a database.
  • Generate reports to track the progress and outcomes of the internship program.


Program Promotion:

  • Assist in promoting the internship program through various channels, including social media, university partnerships, and online platforms.


Qualifications:

We're not super strict on formal qualifications, but here's what we'd love to see in our ideal candidate:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as Human Resources, International Relations, Business Administration, Communication or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Japanese workplace culture and etiquette.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to bridge gaps in communication and expectations.
  • Proficiency in English is essential for communicating with international students and companies + another language is a great plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex information and build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong networking skills to establish and nurture relationships with universities, companies, and industry professionals.
  • Exceptional organisational skills to manage a diverse pool of candidates, internship placements, and administrative tasks.
  • Proven ability to identify challenges and find creative solutions to ensure successful internship placements.
  • Meticulous attention to detail when evaluating candidate profiles, internship requirements, and documentation.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and evolving internship opportunities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Previous experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, international education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and an inclusive mindset, promoting diversity and equal opportunities.
  • And of course, you've got an undying love for all things Japan.
